History

Sarin & Co. is one of India’s oldest and leading law firms specializing in Indian and International Law. Originally established by Late Mr. Harbans Lal Sarin in Lahore (now in Pakistan) in the year 1932, the firm shifted to Shimla after the partition of undivided India. Sarin & Co. finally moved to Chandigarh, India when the city was inaugurated as the symbol of a new India in the early 1950s. While the Firm is headquartered in Chandigarh (a 25-minute flight from New Delhi), our aviation team is based in New Delhi.

The Firm’s expertise includes advising foreign clients looking to invest in Indian businesses with special emphasis on the financing of inter-alia, aircraft assets. The Firm has also traditionally been concentrating on litigation, which it still carried out around India. The team also specializes in advising international corporations looking to set up their business in India.

The scale of the firm has increased manifold over the last 70 years.
